Colorado Incumbent Worker Training: How to Get Reimbursed for Upskilling

Colorado's main incumbent worker program is the Existing Industry grant in Skill Advance Colorado, applied for through a local community college. Applications are anticipated to open in Fall 2026. The employer, by reimbursement of approved training costs, managed through a participating community college.

50% to 90% reimbursed, limited funds

Reimbursement for short-term training of current W-2 employees, with the employer choosing the program and provider.

HOW MUCH

Reimbursed at 50% to 90% after paid invoices are submitted. The board page says the program is up to $75,000 of WIOA Dislocated Worker funding.

WHO RECEIVES THE MONEY

The employer, reimbursed for approved training costs after the training is completed and verified.
