Arizona State Training Grants for Employers

As of September 2026 Arizona has no open state job training grant for employers. The Arizona Job Training Program was paid from a state fund that could not commit money after December 31, 2020, and the leftover money went to the general fund by June 30, 2022. The Arizona Competes Fund still exists, was extended through FY 2028, and can fund training as part of a negotiated deal for large projects. For routine training help, use WIOA through your local ARIZONA@WORK board.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS

What happened to the Arizona Job Training Program?

The statute says money in the Arizona job training fund could not be encumbered after December 31, 2020, and what remained on June 30, 2022 reverted to the general fund. The Commerce Authority's old program page now redirects to its general programs list.

Why do some pages still mention it?

Some local board pages still list the Arizona Job Training Program. Ask the board and the Commerce Authority before relying on it.
