How North Carolina OJT Reimbursement Actually Works for Employers

North Carolina OJT is the federal WIOA program run through the state's local Workforce Development Boards. You hire an eligible person, agree a training plan before hire, and the board reimburses part of the trainee's wages. NC Commerce says the reimbursement ranges from 50% to 75% by business size, with the higher rate for businesses with up to 250 employees. Contracts last only as long as the worker needs to become proficient and not more than six months.
