Ohio Workforce Training Tax Credits: What Employers Can Claim

Ohio has two employer credits tied to jobs or student work, and no general training tax credit. The Job Creation Tax Credit rewards a company that adds at least 10 jobs within three years with at least $660,000 in new annual payroll. The work-based learning credit is the lesser of $5,000 or 15% of wages for a student employee age 19 or younger in a career-tech pathway. The federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit lapsed for people who start work after December 31, 2025, unless Congress renews it.
