Louisiana Workforce Training Tax Credits: What Employers Can Claim

Louisiana's current hiring credit is the Work-Based Learning Tax Credit: $2.50 per hour for eligible apprentices, interns and youth workers hired from January 1, 2026, up to $2,500 per worker. It is nonrefundable, capped at $1 million of credits for 2026, and the first application window is January 1 to February 28, 2027. The federal Work Opportunity Tax Credit has lapsed for people who start work after December 31, 2025. Quality Jobs and Enterprise Zone no longer accept new advance notifications after June 30, 2025.
