How Maryland OJT Reimbursement Actually Works for Employers

Maryland on-the-job training runs through the local workforce boards under WIOA. You hire an eligible new worker, sign a contract before training starts, and the board reimburses part of the wages during training: up to 50% under federal rules, up to 75% where the board documents why. Maryland also holds a federal waiver that allows up to 90% for employers with 50 or fewer employees through June 30, 2028, and Employ Prince George's advertises 90%. Separately, the state Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS) reimburses up to 100% of wages for one month when you hire a qualified DORS job seeker with a disability.
