Texas State Training Grants for Employers

TWC runs several state training grants, but almost none pay the employer directly. The Skills Development Fund (up to $500,000 per business) and High Demand Job Training or Texas Industry Partnership (up to $150,000 TWC match) are applied for by a college or local board with you. Skills for Small Business pays a public college $1,000 to $2,000 per worker. Work Experience is a WIOA subsidy run by local boards.

TWC provides up to $150,000, matched dollar for dollar by the partner.

The local workforce board and its partner (an economic development corporation, or a private employer or industry group for TIP).

WHO QUALIFIES
  • Training for Governor's target industries or board-designated high-demand occupations
  • HDJT: board plus a Type A or B economic development corporation
  • TIP: board plus private employers, foundations or most 501(c)(6) groups
